Tadiyandamol is the second highest mountain in Karnataka. It is situated near to Kakkabe town in Kodagu district, and about 260KM from bangalore.

We reached Virajpet quite early in the morning that we decided to walk all the way. So our journey started with around 10KM to the base of Tadiyandamol.

Sight of the hill from a distance was very good.

On our way we met a coorgi family. We learned so much in a matter of 10 min. I had no idea that the language Coorgi is a mixture of Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam. I saw the whole process of making extracting pepper.

These guys were very friendly. They invited us home and gave us some nice cup of tea.

Our timings was not too great for a trek. It was little dry. Nevertheless it was nice to see some hills around.

Later in the evening the whole hill range was covered in clouds.

Bannerghatta National Park is situated 22 km south of Bangalore, Karnataka, India. The journey to the park takes nearly half an hour from Bangalore. This hilly place is the home for one of the richest natural, zoological reserves. The 25,000 acre (101 km²) zoological park makes this a major tourist attraction of Bangalore.

Having stayed in Bangalore for so many years I had never visited Bannerghatta National Park. In my previous attempt to this place, I ended up climbing a hill near that place.

The place reminded me of the movie Jurassic park. It was my first wild life safari!

We started off with the herbivour safari.

The Deers are so beautiful:

We saw a lot of bear’s. Some of them hiding and peeping at us.

One of the bear was climbing on our vehicle. I could capture it from the rear view mirror!

When I saw the lions and the tigers I didn’t feel so good any more. The concept of a safari is good, but these lions and tigers were fed ready food. So they seem like they didn’t have anything else to do in life other than just sit around. I wonder if it would be OK if they were allowed to hunt to keep their hunting skills alive.

Nevertheless they are such beautiful creatures.

Saw a few kingfisher birds, clicked them. I saw this one sitting on a boat. I loved the colour combination.

Ajay, Swaroop, Swathi, Bel, Razik & Myself… had a day out at Thonnur Lake. Its about 50KM from Mysore. Great water place. I wished I knew swimming better . Swaroop and Ajay swam almost across the lake! Hats off guys!

Trekware:

Kumara Parvatha… toughest trek in Karnataka. It is truly challenging. We left on Friday evening and were back on Monday morning.

This is one of the most memorable treks. Mullayangiri is one place you can never get bored of. Every time it looks so beautiful. The weather was amazing, almost winter so a lot of fog at the top of the hill. We had initially planned to go till Bababudangiri, but due to Nitya’s health and thick fog we decided against it. We found some caves and did some photography inside the caves, it was a thrilling experience.
