Last day at Continental
posted by: Chadaga in ionlab on 06 30th, 2008 | | 4 Comments »

Today was my last day at Continental. This has been a very short stay in a company for me, but I had to make a move now. I had realized that there was no point in working on something that you are not passionate about. If earning a pay check at the end of a month is not my motive in life I shouldn’t be doing that for the heck of it. I shouldn’t be going to work every day dreaming of the day I would make the move to start our own company.

I’m headed back to Bangalore, India to work for my dream company ;) The company we always wanted to start. Some of my reason to start our own venture:

  • To get a feel for working for yourself.
  • To get a feel for hard work.
  • To get a feel for creating jobs for others.
  • To truly love the company you work for.
  • To get a feel for being responsible for what you create.

As of today I have no idea how things will fall into place, but I’m really excited about the fact that we will work towards making things fall into place.

Relaunch of ion - next generation ipod charger
posted by: Chadaga in ionlab on 06 6th, 2008 | | No Comments »

We have re-launched ion. It took us a lot of time to get it up and running again. But with a lot of patience and following up of things we have done it again. I would like to congratulate the team for it.

ion2

In any start-up I feel it is very important not to loose hope and stop. There are many times we feel so low about things not moving, or doubting our self, our ideas, if they are good enough to make it big. But the key is to believe in the idea and execute it, make it work. It is also very important to have couple of like minded people to keep each other motivated.

The ion is our first baby. We have lots more to come and we believe in it.

Why do we think ion is a good product?

  • We will not need multiple chargers anymore, as all devices are USB powered in the future.
  • It is small and compact.
  • It works anywhere in the world.
  • I know for sure my ipod is safe charging through The ion.

As for me, I’m right now in Detroit, Michigan and counting my days to move back to Bangalore on July 1st to pursue my dreams. :)

Editing Colours with Photoshop
posted by: Chadaga in Photography, Photoshop on 04 21st, 2008 | | No Comments »

I have always been a big fan of Adobe Photoshop. More I use the tool more I learn. In digital photography post processing an image is very important. I never used to like post processing because I used to think that post processing is cheating in photography :D. But as time goes by, I see the importance of post processing an image.

Here is an image I clicked during “Sur Taal” event. Cry is known for its yellow, and I found the yellow too dull. So I decided to do some magic using photoshop.

Before editing

The main steps I used for this was carefully use the “Magic Wand” tool to select the yellow. This is the most painful process. Sometimes the Magic Wand doesn’t do a good job, at those times we have to use the “Regular Marquee tool” to add/remove the selection.

After we have chosen the yellow, I used the “Curves and edited the curves as required.

Edited in Photoshop

I’m sure a lot of people will not like the idea of post processing the colors. But my say to it is, with digital cameras making the cost per click almost free, we don’t spend too much time with adjusting the lights. Moreover when we know that we can fix the digital photo later it makes it even better to focus more the the subject than spend a lot of time on lights.

Anyways we know that there is always photoshop to save our day!

Regensburg City and my thoughts

After Staying in Regensburg for 2 weeks, I have learned a lot of things about the city and common people around.

City:

Its a beautiful city, has a lot of touch from Paris, mostly because a lot of roads around city have the rough stone look.

The building and surroundings look very colorful.

Date: 9th February 2008

Place: Bavarian Forest, Germany

After skiing in Michigan a couple of times, I tried skiing in the Great Arber. It was a wonderful experience. I was able to do the basic paths, but was too scared looking at the intermediate paths.

After a couple of rounds I started hiking in the snow. I was missing a spike shoes… I think it is a must on this snow. I had a tough time standing :D

Listening to one of my favorite song - “Creed’s - One last breath

Even though it is cold and dry, yet so beautiful:
