Bangalore - Night Photography

We have been running around Turahalli Forest (Off Kanakapura road, Bangalore South) for a couple of weeks now, and I always wanted to do night photography at that place for obvious reasons:

My friend Varun and I finished work early today and decided to head out. We first wanted to capture the sunset, but by the time we reached the place it was dark. So we deiced do a small night trek and climbed the hill. The view from top is fabulus.

Last but not the least, I wanted to click the start streak, so I did a 5 min exposure.

The rock and the trees are very clear in the picture. It was pitch dark. We can see a small start streak. We had to head back so I had to stop the camera. One of these days, I want to try this again for may be 3 hours or so :)

Rock Garden - Chandigarh, Punjab

Place: Chandigarh, Punjab

Date: July 20th 2008

Team: Varun, Swaroop and Vikram

I was in Chandigarh visiting my friend Varun’s Hometown. I asked him what are the nice things to see around and he said there was a rock garden. The first thing that comes to my mind with rock garden is a small park with some huge rocks in it. If that’s what you have thought about you will be surprised.

Rock Garden at Chandigarh is a wonderful creation of Mr. Nek Chand. He was a road inspector in the early fifties supervising the construction of roads in Chandigarh, the capital of Punjab.

He created beauty out of industrial waste. Things like plugs, sockets, broken tiles etc.

As we walk by we see a nice waterfall.

Kelheim - Germany

Place: Kelheim, Germany

Date: 2nd February 2008

Team: I had been to this place with my Manager Henry Kuenzel and his wife.

It has been more 6 months since I travelled to Germany. I was seeing all my pictures and thought I must write about Kelheim.

Kelheim is about 1-2 hours drive from Regensburg. This place has a few very interesting monuments. I had collected some historical information from the place which I thought I should put it on my website for others to read.

The first place we went to is called:
Liberation Hall King Ludwig I

On top of Michelsberg, high above the town you can see Kelheim’s Landmark, Liberation Hall. King Ludwig I., of Bavaria had this monumental round building erected in commemoration of the wars of liberation from Napoleon (1813-15). It was realized by the famous Munich architect Leo von Klenze within 21 years’ time (1842-63).

It has a 7-meter -high enterance door and the shields of goddesses of victory inside the monument are made of particular material: bronze of conquered French canons.

After food we reached the place. We have to buy a ferry ticket to get to the Island.

The boat ride to the Island is very beautiful. It was a perfect day, the sun was out.

Last day at Continental
posted by: Chadaga in ionlab on 06 30th, 2008 | | 4 Comments »

Today was my last day at Continental. This has been a very short stay in a company for me, but I had to make a move now. I had realized that there was no point in working on something that you are not passionate about. If earning a pay check at the end of a month is not my motive in life I shouldn’t be doing that for the heck of it. I shouldn’t be going to work every day dreaming of the day I would make the move to start our own company.

I’m headed back to Bangalore, India to work for my dream company ;) The company we always wanted to start. Some of my reason to start our own venture:

  • To get a feel for working for yourself.
  • To get a feel for hard work.
  • To get a feel for creating jobs for others.
  • To truly love the company you work for.
  • To get a feel for being responsible for what you create.

As of today I have no idea how things will fall into place, but I’m really excited about the fact that we will work towards making things fall into place.
